Hans Bachl

Hans Bachl (born March 8, 1917 in Linz ; † April 4, 1985 ibid) was an Austrian choir director and music teacher .

Life

Bachl was a compulsory school and AHS teacher as well as a professor at the Pedagogical Academy in Linz. In 1950 he founded the singing and play group of Upper Austrian teachers (now the Bachl Choir ) and the singing school of the Linz City Music School, which he directed until 1984. From 1959 he also directed the St. Florian Boys' Choir . Bachl promoted the maintenance of old and new choral music, folk songs and folk dance, local customs and Upper Austrian costumes.

Bachl died in Linz in 1985.
