The Bachl Choir is an Austrian , mixed choir from Linz .

Foundation and development

The choir was founded by the Linz music teacher Hans Bachl in 1950 as a singing and play group O.Ö. Teacher founded. The choir was later called the Bachl Choir . The choir's repertoire consists of works of traditional and new choral music with a focus on cultivating Upper Austrian folklore.

In 1951 and 1952 the choir took part in the international festival in Llangollen and was awarded 1st and 3rd prizes for folk music and folk dance. Numerous concert tours have led to France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, South Tyrol, Finland and Norway.

The traditional Advent singing of the Bachl Choir has been held in Linz's Brucknerhaus and the parish church since 1976 .
