Martin Méroy

Martin Méroy or Martin Meroy , actually Charles Ewald (life dates unknown) was a French journalist and author of crime novels with German roots.

Live and act

Méroy grew up in France and studied at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris ( Grande école ). He then worked as a freelance journalist for a few years. According to an ondit , Méroy traveled around the world on cargo ships and then settled in New York in 1948 .

There Méroy headed the Agence France-Presse until 1953 , during which time he began writing his first stories for Mystère Magazine - the French equivalent of Ellery Queen ’s Mystery Magazine .

In 1959 Méroy made a very successful debut with his novel Les blondes ont la vie dure . Since he was not only able to repeat this success with his subsequent novels, but also increase it, he gave up his job and devoted himself only to his literary work, which he published under his pseudonym as well as under his real name.

Pierre Bellemare brought Méroy to his show Les dossiers extraordinaires (Incredible Stories) on Europe 1 and later to the Murder Party on Radio Monte Carlo .
