Hans Chloupač

Hans Chloupač (* 30th December 1887 in Vienna , † 5. January 1965 ) was an Austrian Government and fossil collectors .

Live and act

Until his retirement in 1952, Hans Chloupač was a councilor in the Central Statistical Office in Vienna. In addition, he was a successful fossil collector and volunteer at the Natural History Museum . His collection is in the Natural History Museum.

Chloupač put the focus of his collections on fossil conchylia of the Vienna basin . He paid special attention to fossils from the soil of Vienna. He was able to put together a considerable collection of these. The Natural History Museum Vienna rated its collection as "a valuable addition to the previous holdings in several respects".

In recognition of his services, Chloupač was appointed correspondent of the Natural History Museum in 1954.
