Hans Christoph III. Count Puchheim

Hans Christoph III. von Puchheim (* 1605 ; † 1657 ) was an Austrian nobleman and imperial field marshal .

He was the son of Johann Christoph II von Puchheim zu Krumbach and Eva Susanna von Hofkirchen. He married Polixena Countess von Leiningen-Dachsburg.

As a Lieutenant Field Marshal in 1644, he fought the Hungarian insurgent Georg I. Rákóczi . In 1645/46 he commanded the imperial troops fighting the Swedes in northern Lower Austria.

He lived in Kirchschlag Castle in the Bucklige Welt . In 1651 he built a mansion in Kirchschlag and left the castle uninhabited. After his death, the rule of Kirchschlag passed to Count Nikolaus Pálffy , who was able to assert inheritance claims through his mother.
