Hans Christoph von Gemmingen (* 1677 ; † November 12, 1752 in Vienna ) was landlord in Michelfeld and Reichshofrat in Vienna. He became insane, his goods came under the compulsory administration of the knight's canton and fell to relatives after his death.

Life

He was a great-grandson of Reinhard the Scholar (1576–1635), who in 1614 had assumed the fiefdom of the previously extinct line of Gemmingen-Michelfeld . The possession of Michelfeld came to Reinhard's son Hans Christoph († 1646), from this to his son Johann Reinhard (1632–1678) and from this to his son Hans Christoph, born in 1677. His mother turned to Bishop Johann Karl von Worms in 1690 with a request for her son to be given the castle and village of Treschklingento finance his studies. He embarked on an administrative career in the Reichsdienst and became Imperial Councilor in Vienna. With advancing age he became insane and no longer looked after his goods, so that they came under compulsory administration of the knight's canton. He died in 1752 single and childless in Vienna. His property fell to relatives from the Hornberg tribe in Gemmingen.
