Hans Franz Passavant (born January 25, 1845 in Basel ; † May 27, 1909 there ) was a Swiss entrepreneur.

He was the second oldest of six children of banker Emanuel Passavant from the bank Passavant & Cie. and Adèle Bachofen.

After attending grammar school in Basel, he completed an apprenticeship in banking in his father's bank with internships in London and Paris. In 1874 he married Anna Margarete Iselin into an influential family in the city of Basel . Four years after their marriage, in 1878, one year before his father's death, he left the Passavant & Cie. and founded a brick and brick factory in Allschwil near Basel. The PIC Passavant-Iselin & Cie. The massive use of the most modern technology (steam engines, presses for bricks and bricks; Switzerland's first interlocking tile press) led to rapid economic success, which even a major fire in 1903 could not stop. Until its liquidation in 1976, it was the most important Swiss brick and brick manufacturer.
