Hans Frey (officer)
Hans Frey (born May 8, 1873 in Neuhausen am Rheinfall ; † August 9, 1947 in Bern ) was a Swiss engineer, general staff officer and university professor.
Life
Hans Frey attended the canton school in Schaffhausen . He then studied at the Polytechnic of Zurich and at the Technical University of Stuttgart Engineering . In Stuttgart he became a member of the Corps Stauffia in 1894 . He completed his studies as a Dipl.-Ing. from.
1897 Frey engineer was the Topography . From 1903 to 1924 he served in the Swiss Army as a general staff officer, from 1904 to 1905 and again from 1910 as an infantry instruction officer and from 1920 as section chief in the general staff department. In 1924 he was promoted to colonel division and commanded the 6th division until 1932.
From 1933 to 1936 he taught war history at the ETH Zurich.
