Hans Gärtner (pedagogue)

Hans Gärtner (* 1939 in Reichenberg , Czechoslovakia ) is a German educator.

Life

Expelled from the Sudetenland in 1945, the son of a craftsman came to southeast Bavaria when he was nine years old, where he still lives today. After graduating from high school in Freising in 1959, he became a primary school teacher, then a research assistant for general pedagogy in Munich. A second degree (education, psychology, theology, German studies) led to a doctorate in 1970. phil. at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . First active as a lecturer, he became a university professor in 1980. In 1981 he took over the chair for elementary school education and didactics at the Catholic University of Eichstätt . Teaching and research focus (until 1997): Psychology and pedagogy of elementary school children, written language acquisition, reading in preschool and elementary school, general teaching, children's media. Today Hans Gärtner publishes as a cultural journalist, reviewer, juror, consultant and publisher of anthologies.
