Hans Georg Ahrens
Hans Georg Ahrens , also Hans-Georg Ahrens , (* 1944 in Hitzacker ) is a German opera singer (bass baritone).
Life
Ahrens studied at the Berlin University of Music and Performing Arts with Professor G. Wilhelms. His first engagement took him to the Städtische Bühnen Mainz . Further engagements in Augsburg and Kassel followed. His successes finally brought him to the Kiel Opera House in 1978 . Since then he has also participated in numerous recordings and live radio broadcasts.
Ahrens has been a university lecturer for singing at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel since 1994 and at the University of Flensburg since 2002 , but continues to sing major bass roles at the theater in Kiel , where he was appointed chamber singer in 1998 .
