Hans Gerd Rötzer

Hans Gerd Rötzer (* 1933 ) is a German literary scholar and non-fiction - author .

Life

Hans Gerd Rötzer graduated with a degree in literature and education . Rötzer received his doctorate in 1961 on the subject of "Reinhard Johannes Sorge - Theory and Poetry". He then worked at the Technical University of Darmstadt and the Erasmus Kittler School , among others . In 1971 Rötzer completed his habilitation on the subject of “Picaro - Landtstörtzer - Simplicius. Studies on the lower novel in Spain and Germany ”. After completing his habilitation, he received a professorship at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . Rötzer taught modern German literature , didactics , German as a foreign language andComparative studies . In addition, he conducted research in the fields of European baroque , European picaresque novels , German-Spanish literary relations, literary mediation and German literary history . Rötzer was dean in 1973/1974 and 1989/1990 and until 1998 contact professor for scholarship programs.
