Hans Gustav Ehrenreich

Hans Gustav Ehrenreich (* 1917 ; † 1984 ) was a Danish craftsman and designer .

Life

After finishing school, Ehrenreich completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter. Around 1950 he went into business for himself and founded his own company under the name Ehrenreichs Traekunst (in German: Ehrenreichs Holzkunst ).

Hoptimist

In 1968 he designed his first figures, which he initially only made of wood, such as B. made of rosewood , Moorkienwurzel and teak and later also made of plastic . He is particularly known for the Danish cult figure "Hoptimist", which he published in 1968 in the form of birdies (figures in the shape of a bird). In 1969 he designed the birdie feather figure, the Bimble & Bumble figures and the Kvak frog in 1971 , all of which were a success. The central element of all these figures was a soft feather. His figures are marketed by various manufacturers made of wood and plastic to this day.
