Hans Hofmann (politician, 1939)
Hans Hofmann (born March 3, 1939 in Horgen ) is a Swiss politician . He is a member of the Swiss People's Party (SVP).
biography
Hofmann grew up in Horgen, is married and has two children.
He began his political career in the local council of Horgen, where he worked from 1977 to 1986. He was elected to the Cantonal Council in 1983 and was a member of it until his election to the Government Council in 1987. He ruled in the canton of Zurich until 1999. Hofmann was a member of the Council of States from September 21, 1998 to December 2, 2007 .
Hofmann mostly took moderate bourgeois positions and was therefore not always on the polarizing right-wing conservative course pursued by his party.
