Hans Huber (politician)

Hans Huber (born December 10, 1889 in Tragwein , Upper Austria; † November 17, 1949 in Linz ) was an Austrian trade union secretary and politician .

Life

Huber came from a family of small farmers. He learned the bakery trade and then went on a journey, where he got to know the Christian trade union movement. Between 1905 and 1918 he was a soldier, then he was secretary of the National Council and founder of the Agricultural Workers' Association for 30 years. Stampers. From 1925 to 1934 and again from 1945 to 1948 was a member of the state parliament for the Christian Social Party and the Austrian People's Party . In doing so, he campaigned for the creation of a farm worker regulation and a settlement fund for farm workers. In 1925 he became the first chairman of the agricultural health insurance fund, which he headed until 1938 and then from 1945 to 1948.

After the Second World War, Huber became state secretary of the agricultural and forest workers 'union, led the reconstruction of the Christian agricultural workers' union and the agricultural social security system and was also a co-founder of the agricultural labor association.
