Hans Kraus (born March 2, 1943 ) is a former German soccer player who, as an active member of VfR Mannheim, played two games in the German national soccer team of amateurs in 1963 .

career

Association until 1966

The young player Hans Kraus, who came from the youth department via the amateur team to the contract team, completed his debut game for VfR Mannheim in the Oberliga Süd on March 24, 1963 at the home game against Schwaben Augsburg in the left defensive position . In the 3-1 victory in defense, coach Helmut Kronsbein relied on goalkeeper Hans Benzler , defender Norbert Spiesberger and center runner Hans-Jürgen Wäckerle alongside Kraus . His fifth and last league game in the 1962/63 season played Hans Kraus on April 21, 1963 in the 2-4 defeat at SpVgg Fürth. He and Günther Schreck formed the VfR defender couple.

VfR Mannheim played from the 1963/64 round in the Regionalliga Süd . Hans Kraus made 53 missions including the 1965/66 season under the coaches Hans Pilz, Kurt Keuerleber, Helmut Ullmann and Oswald Pfau and ended his higher-class career in the summer of 1966.

In May 1963, DFB coach Helmut Schön nominated 20-year-old Hans Kraus for the German amateur football team for the anniversary tournament (100th anniversary of the English Football Association ) in England. On May 20th in North Shields against France and on May 22nd in Sunderland in the final against Scotland, the Mannheim defensive talent played two international matches in the DFB-Elf. Kraus represented the injured captain Hermann Michel in defense . He played in defense with Sepp Maier , Walter Liebich , Walter Birkhold , Wilhelm Zott and Horst Kunzmann .

On June 23, 1963, together with Gustav Witlatschil from Karlsruher SC, he formed the defender pair at the unofficial international match between the DFB Juniors against Japan A in Augsburg. Peter Kunter from Freiburg FC guarded the goal in the German 5-0 victory.
