Hans Kurig

Hans Kurig (born January 22, 1931 in Cologne , † December 26, 2016 in Hamburg ) was a German literary scholar .

Life

Kurig completed his studies in classical philology in Cologne, Marburg and Hamburg. Formerly Kurig worked as a teacher at the learned school of the Johanneum and as headmaster of the Bondenwald grammar school . From 1970 until his retirement he held the position of high school council in the high school department of the Hamburg school authority. From 1982 to 1992 Kurig was chairman of the Society of Book Friends Hamburg founded by Aby Warburg and Gustav Schiefler .
