Hans Lippl (born December 24, 1934 in Nuremberg ; † December 1, 2010 there ) was a German motorcycle off-road racer .

Life

After Lippl had won first medals in off-road driving with a Maico in 1957, the then motorcycle manufacturer Hercules provided him with an off-road machine for the newly created 100 cm³ class in the German off-road championship , with which Lippl became German champion in 1960. In the six-day rides in Bad Aussee (1960), Llandrindod Wells (1961) and Garmisch-Partenkirchen (1962), he won a gold, silver and bronze medal each before switching back to Maico. In 1976 it was almost enough to win another championship, but in the finals of the Senior Cup for drivers aged 40 and over, which was held for the first time, Lippl fell and had to be satisfied with the runner-up title.

When the first off-road trips for historic motorcycles were organized in Germany in 1993, Lippl was there from the start. After he was no longer active due to health problems, the trained master watchmaker supported the organizers of the off-road trips with his historical “time clocks” in taking the time.
