Hans Martini (politician)
Hans Martini (born July 24, 1927 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German politician . As mayor of the city of Mannheim, he was responsible for social and health services from 1961 to 1981 and is co-founder of the Central Institute for Mental Health in Mannheim.
Live and act
Hans Martini lived in Mannheim since 1934. He studied law in Heidelberg and worked as a lawyer in Mannheim from 1954 to 1961. After his election as mayor in the field of social and health services of the city of Mannheim, the lawyer played a key role in the establishment of the Mannheim Medical Faculty and in the establishment of the Central Institute for Mental Health (ZI) in Mannheim. He remained associated with the ZI as a member of the board even after his resignation as mayor.
