Hans Rey

Hansjörg "No Way" Rey born. (Born June 4, 1966 in Kenzingen ) is a Swiss mountain biker in the freeride and trial disciplines .

He grew up in Emmendingen , Germany . He lives in Laguna Beach , California ( USA ). He has also been an American citizen since 2008.

Rey is considered a pioneer in trials and freeride. He won several world championships in trials and was German, Swiss and American champion. He won a silver medal in the trial at the first ESPN -XGames in 1995. In 1996 he took part in the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Atlanta . In 1997 he stopped competitive sports and decided to explore the world with his bike and adventure team. To this end, he founded the Hans Rey Adventure Team , which is filmed by a camera team during its expeditions.

Rey starred in the film Tread in 1994 and in 2 episodes of the television series Pacific Blue - The Beach Police in 1997/98 . In 1999 he was inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame .

In 2005 he founded the aid organization Wheels 4 Life , which donates bicycles to people in the Third World , for example to schoolchildren, nurses or farmers. By January 2015, 6,900 bicycles had been donated in 26 countries.
