Hans Riefling

Hans Riefling is a former German national basketball player .

career

In 1967 the player from Post Mannheim switched to USC Heidelberg in the basketball league and became German runner-up with the team in the first year. 1970 Riefling again reached second place with the USC. In 1973 he won the German championship with the Heidelberg team and played a key role in this success as coach Dick Stewart's squad. During his time in Heidelberg, he also made appearances in the European Cup. In the following season 1973/74 the SSV Hagen had to go first and came second in the championship, in 1974/75 Heidelberg was defeated by Gießen in the finals, so there was silver again for Riefling and his teammates. In 1977 he won the second German championship of his career with the USC (under the direction of coach Hans Leciejewski ) and became a cup winner. He ended his playing career after the triumph.

From 1986 to 1989 Riefling was the coach of the men's team at KuSG Leimen .
