Hans Ruge

Hans Ruge (born April 18, 1940 in Berlin ) is a Swedish-German neo-Greekist .

Ruge had been a lecturer and professor for neo- Greek studies at Stockholm University since 1970 , then professor for modern Greek language and culture at the Department of Translation, Linguistics and Cultural Studies at the University of Mainz in Germersheim . He retired in 2005.

Ruge has become known beyond specialist circles primarily for his comprehensive and linguistically sound modern Greek grammar, published in 1986.
