Hans Schimitzek
Hans Schimitzek (born July 13, 1875 in Vienna ; † November 8, 1957 there ) was an Austrian architect of the reform style .
Live and act
Hans Schimitzek was the son of the Viennese city architect Wilhelm Schimitzek (1847–1914). He studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology from 1892 to 1898 and graduated with the academic title Dipl.-Ing. from.
First working in his father's office, from 1904 he was a freelance architect in Vienna. He was very successful in building hospitals and, as a specialist in hospitals and health spas, also found broad professional recognition for his art. For example, the Wirer'sche Badstiftung Bad Ischl (see Franz Wirer von Rettenbach ) commissioned him to reorganize the spa facilities. Schimitzek was a very versatile architect. When designing the hospital buildings, he took into account the most modern technical and medical achievements and knew how to cleverly combine modern decor with traditional forms in residential building and thus create aesthetically pleasing and representative buildings.
