The Hans Stockmar GmbH & Co. KG is a German company in the legal form of a GmbH & Co. KG with headquarters in Kaltenkirchen . The anthroposophically oriented product range includes wax crayons, watercolors and beeswax candles .

history

Hans Stockmar founded the sole proprietorship in 1922. Initially, the center walls in the beehive were made for the apiary . Eight years later the production of beeswax candles began. When the first approaches in reform pedagogy began to gain acceptance on a broader level, the production of modeling wax was added in 1939.

After the Second World War , the sole proprietorship was converted into an open trading company (OHG) in 1949 . Since 1952 - at the suggestion of art teachers from Waldorf schools - wax crayons have been developed and produced. From 1955, wax foils were also added to decorate candles, and profit-sharing was agreed for the employees . After the death of the founder Hans Stockmar in 1961, the company was converted into a limited partnership . Watercolors have been among the products since 1963.

From 1974 the process of neutralizing the company capital began and in 1979 the family members decided to let future income flow through a trust. In 1982 they moved into a new building in Kaltenkirchen, whose floor plan is reminiscent of a honeycomb . The range has been expanded to include wood care products and color wheel colors. In 2000 and 2001, Art Makes Sense and WBU Quality Development were registered as trademarks.

The company is not only based on the limit values for harmful substances that are specified in the DIN 71 European standard for writing utensils , paints and modeling clay, but also based on the low limit values set out in the Food Ordinance.
