Hans Ulrich von Erlach
Hans Ulrich von Erlach (born February 16, 1910 in Bern ; † October 19, 2005 in Lausanne ; legal resident in Bern) was a Swiss officer and lawyer .
Life
Von Erlach was born the son of a forest engineer and his wife. His grandfather was General Ulrich Wille . After graduating from high school in Burgdorf in 1929, he studied law at the universities of Lausanne, Berlin and Bern. In 1935 he was promoted to Dr. iur. doctorate (subject: Legal protection for the army and national defense against military activities (in current Swiss law and de lege ferenda) ).
In 1937 he became an infantry instruction officer. In 1951/52 he attended the US Army Infantry School at Fort Benning . From 1958 to 1961 he was a brigadier and commander of the mountain brigade. From 1958 to 1966 he was section head and sub-department head in the staff of the group for general staff services. From 1967 to 1975 he was then deputy director of the Central Office for General Defense
He was married twice.
