Hans Warg

Hans Warg († ~ 1965/66) was a German soccer player and soccer coach. With the Plauener SuBC he was represented in the final round of the German championship in 1932, in 1957 he coached SC Motor Jena in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football .

Athletic career

All that is known about his career as a soccer player is that he won the Central German Cup in 1932 with the Plauen SuBC. The Plauen SuBC qualified for the final round of the German soccer championship 1931/32 . The Plauener were eliminated in the first round, the round of 16, against FC Schalke 04 4: 5 afterwards. Hans Warg had been called up as a striker and had put his team 3-2 in the 57th minute.

As a trainer, Hans Warg appeared for the first time nationwide in 1951 as responsible for the Thuringia selection. In 1954 he was mentioned as a selection coach of the GDR-wide sports association Motor . During the 1952/53 season he took over from Max Hofsommer as a coach at the second-rate GDR league club Motor Nordhausen West . For the 1954/55 season Warg was coach of the GDR league team of SC Motor Jena. In 1956 (calendar year rhythm) he led the team to promotion to the GDR league. Warg led the league newcomer in 1957 to fourth place in the final table, but surprisingly left the SC Motor at the beginning of the 1958 season. During this season he was coach of the TSC Oberschöneweide football team , which played in the third-class II. GDR league . After he had worked as a trainer of the TSC in 1959, he then left the GDR for the Federal Republic. There he no longer appeared in higher-class football. Between 1962 and 1965 the lower class team of the game association Igstadt trained. With her he rose in 1963 to the A-class Wiesbaden (2nd amateur league). In 1965 he gave up his coaching position for health reasons and died shortly afterwards.
