Hans Werner Niesner

Hans Werner Niesner (born September 8, 1947 ) is a German badminton player and coach.

Player career

After numerous titles from Lower Saxony, Hans Werner Niesner won Austrian International together with Harald Klauer in 1980 . He played in the Badminton Bundesliga from 1977 to 1982, whereby the VfL Wolfsburg team was able to secure the runner-up title in 1980.

Coaching career

From 1970 to 1983, Hans Werner Niesner worked as an instructor and association trainer for the Lower Saxony Badminton Association. From 1974 he was employed at the IfL of the TU Braunschweig for the elective badminton course and since the winter semester 98/99 he has been a lecturer at the seminar for sports science / sports education at the TU Braunschweig and member of the Lower Saxony state examination office for teaching posts. Niesner received his DBV A-Trainer license in 1975. From 1976 to 1983 he worked as a part-time national trainer of the Austrian Badminton Association and immediately afterwards he was the full-time national trainer of the German Badminton Association with various German championship titles, IBF Grand Prix tournament Victories and European Championship medals. As Senior Coach of the European Badminton Union (1982–1995) and as Senior Coach & IBF Expert of the International Badminton Federation (1985–1995) he took care of international development assignments and trainer training worldwide. In 1992 he opened his own HW Niesner Badminton School , with an extensive range of holiday and weekend camps for players of all levels. Since 1995 he has been the responsible head coach at the Gifhorn badminton club in the Bundesliga.

In addition to his career as an athlete and trainer, Hans Werner Niesner also worked as a journalist. He has been a commentator and specialist editor at Eurosport-TV since 1989 and regularly writes articles for Badminton-Sport , Badminton Report Niedersachsen, the Aller Zeitung and the Gifhorner Rundschau. He also works as a badminton consultant and in badminton marketing.
