Hans Zankl

Hans Zankl (* approx. 1941) is a former Austrian table tennis player .

Career

Hans Zankl achieved first successes in the youth sector. In 1957 and 1958 he and Viktor Hirsch reached the final at the European Youth Championships in doubles. In the adult division, he was nominated for a total of 75 international matches. He took part in the World Championships in 1959 and 1963 as well as in the European Championships in 1958 , but did not come close to medal ranks. As early as 1957 he was supposed to take part in the World Cup, but decided not to concentrate on his school leaving certificate.

At the national Austrian championships he reached the final nine times, but remained without a win. He played for the ASK Salzburg clubs. and Union Nonntal.

After the end of his career, he took on official duties. From 1985 to 1986 he was Vice President of the Salzburg Table Tennis Association.
