Hansando is a Korean island. It is located on the southeast coast of Gyeongsangnam-do Province in South Korea near the city of Tongyeong .
Location and geography
The island is southeast of Tongyeong. Around the island are the islands of Hwado (화도), Bisando (비산 도), Jwado (좌 도), Chubongdo (추봉도), Jukdo (죽도), Yonghodo (용호 도) and Bijindo (비진 도). Chubongdo is connected to the main island of Hansando by a bridge. There are two larger peaks on the island, the 293 m high Mangsan (망산) in the center of the island and the 189 m high Godongsan (고동산) on a northern headland.
Attractions
The Jeseungdang Shrine , which is dedicated to the Korean military leader Yi Sun-sin and his victory in the Battle of Hansando (한산도 대첩) in August 1592 during the Imjin War , is directly accessible from the ferry port .

The island can be reached by ferry connections (passengers, cars) from Tongyeong and Geojedo . There is a ring road on the island.
