Hansel Camacho

Hansel Camacho Santos (born in Quibdó , Colombia ) is a Colombian salsa musician, actor and composer.

Career

Hansel Camacho was born in the La Yesquita district in Quibdó , the provincial capital of the Colombian province of Chocó . In his youth, Camacho initially aspired to a football career with the América de Cali club , but then decided on a musical career. At a singing competition in Quibdo he won the Canalete de Oro Prize. In 1985 he signed a record deal with the group Changó at Sony Music and had his first national and international hit with the title “Pretenciosa”. In the telenovela Amar y Vivir, Hansel Camacho got a short role, which made TV producer Carlos Mayolo aware of him and gave him an appearance in the very successful series "Azúcar".

As an actor, Camacho won several awards such as the Simón Bolívar Prize, La Mejor Actor Revelación and La Mejor Música para Seriados. Camacho played in other series such as "La Mujer Doble", "La Potranca Zaina" and "Señora Isabel". During this time he also had his biggest salsa hit "Verdades", which was a great success in Colombia and abroad. His greatest hits include "Gracias Amor (Por Los Bellos Momentos)", "Me Coquetea", "Cuando Estoy Junto a Ti" and "A Pesar de la Distancia".
