Hansen Valley

The Hansen Valley is a wide valley on the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . From Leith Harbor it runs in a north-westerly direction.

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2013 based on the name of the neighboring Hansen Point . This headland is probably named after the Norwegian Leganger Hansen (1883–1948), manager of the Leith Harbor whaling station from 1921 to 1937.
