Hansjörg Kopp

Hansjörg Kopp (* 1972 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is pastor of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg . He was on 22 October 2016 the General Assembly of YMCA Germany of the YMCA Association appointed the new secretary general in Germany and took up the post on 15 March 2017th

Career

Kopp studied from 1994 to 2001 Evangelical Theology at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the University of Marburg , completed by March 2004 his Vicariate in the Evangelical Church of Laichingen and until July 2005 pastors to service temporary help in the dean's office Ulm . Afterwards he was parish pastor of the Evangelical Jakobuskirchengemeinde am Hochsträß in Ulm until April 2010 and then youth minister in Esslingen until March 2017 , where he worked 50% as district youth minister in Esslingen and 50% in the regional church a special parish with a focus on milieu-sensitive youth workheld. In March 2017 he became General Secretary of the YMCA Germany (Kassel).

Voluntary work in the YMCA

Hansjörg Kopp says of himself that his path in life is inextricably linked with Christian child and youth work . As a child he was active in the youth group at the YMCA, later u. a. in oak cross football and as an employee and leader of youth groups and youth camps. "I would like to pay new attention to the original mission of the YMCA and inspire young people to live in faith in Jesus Christ," said Kopp.
