Gaurav Solanki (* 21st January 1997 ) is an Indian boxer in the flyweight .

Career

Solanki took part in the World Junior Championships in Ukraine in 2013 and in the World Youth Championships in Bulgaria in 2014 , where he qualified for the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in China . There he failed in the fight for a medal place against Muhammad Ali . He also won the gold medal at the Asian Youth Championships in Thailand in 2014 . At the 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa , he won the silver medal after a narrow defeat in the final with 1: 2 against Jack Bowen.

In April 2018, he won the flyweight gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Australia after beating Brendan Irvine in the final . In June 2018 he was also able to win the gold medal at the Chemistry Cup in Germany . In August 2018 he lost to Ryomei Tanaka at the Asian Games in Indonesia .
