The Happy Valley Territorial Park is a provincial park in the northwest of the Canadian Northwest Territory . Unlike most of the other Canadian provinces, the provincial parks in the Northwest Territory are called Territorial Parks . It lies north of the Arctic Circle and is the northernmost of the Territorial Parks in the Northwest Territories. Only the Jàk Territorial Park, located a little to the southwest, is so far north of the territory.
The park is located in the delta of the Mackenzie River , north of Inuvik on the Inuvik – Tuktoyaktuk Highway (Northwest Territories Highway 10), the extension of the Dempster Highway (Northwest Territories Highway 8) to Tuktoyaktuk . To the west of the park are the Richardson Mountains .
The park has 34 parking spaces (some of which can be reserved) for campers and tents and has sanitary facilities with showers. The park also has a so-called day use area .
