Har'el Brigade Memorial

Har Adar is an Israeli settlement in the West Bank that was founded in 1986. Since 1995, the place has also been the administrative seat of the municipal administration of the same name (מועצה מקומית הר אדר). 3980 settlers live there (as of 2016). Originally the place was called Giv'at HaRadar ( radar hill ) because of the military radar station for flight monitoring that was located there during World War II . The memorial for the fallen of the Har'el Brigade, which is inscribed with a Bible passage, stands today at this highest point in the village. The current name comes from the place Adar on the biblical border of the tribe of Benjamin (Joshua 18:13), which ran in this area.

On September 6, 2017, three Israeli security officers, Solomon Gavaria (20) from Be'er Ja'akov , Or Arisch (25) from Har Adar and the Arab Yussef Othman from Abu Gosh were shot dead in an attack . The attacker opened fire on a group of security guards at an entrance to the settlement in the morning when they opened the entrance to Palestinian workers. Hamas welcomed the act.
