Harald Darer

Harald Darer (* 1975 in Mürzzuschlag , Styria ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Harald Darer completed an apprenticeship as an electrician . He has lived and worked in Vienna since 1997 . In 2005 he started writing and published in literary magazines and anthologies. In 2009/10 he attended the Leondingen Academy for Literature.

In 2012 and 2013 he was a finalist in the Wartholz Literature Prize . His debut novel Who Sleeps with Dogs was shortlisted for the Alpha Literature Prize in 2013 . His second novel Herzkörper followed in 2015 , and Schnitzel Tragödie was published the following year . His fourth novel Blaumann was on the ten-title longlist of the Austrian Book Prize in 2019 .
