Harald Eschenburg

Harald Eschenburg (born June 12, 1914 in Kiel ; † 1988 in ibid.) Was a German bookseller , antiquarian and author .

Live and act

Harald Eschenburg was born in Kiel as the son of the naval officer Theodor Eschenburg (1876–1978). After attending grammar school in Kiel and studying literature for three semesters at Kiel University , he worked in publishing ( Rowohlt Verlag in Berlin, Verlag Eugen Diederichs , Jena). During the Second World War he was a naval officer, most recently as a first lieutenant. Then he was the owner of various bookshops and second-hand bookshops in Kiel. He was also active as the author of several historical novels and biographies.

His brother was the political scientist Theodor Eschenburg (1904-1999).
