Harald J. Wester

Harald J. Wester (born February 26, 1958 in Linz am Rhein ) is a German manager of Fiat SpA and CEO of Alfa Romeo and Maserati .

Life

Harald J. Wester was at Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg division from 1991 to 1995 head of vehicle research and new concepts (Vehicle Research & New Concepts). At the end of 1995 he moved to Audi AG in Ingolstadt as a program manager for the A2 models and special vehicles, where he stayed until January 1999.

He was then head of product development for Ferrari SpA in Italy until January 2002. After working briefly for the Magna Steyr AG as head of the division engineering and as technical director (Group President Engineering and Chief Technical Officer) he came in 2004 finally to the Fiat Group , where he worked first as Technical Director (CTO) of Fiat Group Automobiles and later also as Technical Director of the Fiat Group . In addition to these tasks, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Maserati SpA in August 2008 and Chairman of the Board of Abarth & C. in January 2009 .

In January 2010, he assumed responsibility for the car maker Alfa Romeo of the Fiat Group as chief executive officer .
