Harald Kügler (soccer player)

Harald Kügler (born February 15, 1962 in Münster ) is a former German soccer player .

Having emerged from the youth of ESV Münster , Kügler soon moved to the youth department of FC Schalke 04 . There he reached the final of the German A-youth championship 1979/80 with the A-youth , in which the young miners were defeated by SV Waldhof Mannheim with 1: 2.

Due to his good performance in the youth field, Harald Kügler received a licensed player contract and made his first appearances in German professional football at Schalke 04 from 1980 to the 1982/83 season. For the miners he played 26 Bundesliga and 19 second division games with 5 and 6 goals respectively. He came to SG Wattenscheid 09 in the summer of 1983 via the Alemannia Aachen intermediate station and stayed there until 1990. After a year at Preußen Münster , he switched to Rot-Weiss Essen , where he was active until the 1994/95 season. He ended his career at Schwarz-Weiß Essen . Overall, Kügler played 305 second division games , in which he scored 91 goals.
