Harald Nørregaard

Harald Nørregaard (born May 30, 1864 in Vestre Aker , † 1938 ) was a Norwegian lawyer at the Supreme Court . He was also President of the Norwegian Bar Association (1904-1907), founder (1893) of the law firm Hjort (originally H. Nørregaard), one of the leading law firms in Norway, and close friend and lawyer of the painter Edvard Munch . He and his two wives were painted by Munch several times, and he owned several of Munch's most famous paintings.

Nørregaard was the son of the colonel and adjutant of the king, Hans Jacob Nørregaard (1832-1900), and his wife Sophie Wegner (1838-1906) and grandson of the industrialist Benjamin Wegner . He was the brother of the internationally known war correspondent and Minister of Labor in the Provisional Government in China Benjamin Wegner Nørregaard and the wine merchant and consul in Tarragona, Ludvig Paul Rudolf Nørregaard.
