Harald Rosemann

Harald Rosemann (born February 11, 1937 in Hanover ) is a German engineer. Most recently he worked at the Institute for Machine Design and Tribology (formerly Machine Elements and Construction Technology) at Leibniz University Hannover . He is a retired associate professor .

Life

His parents were the mathematician Walther Rosemann and his wife Hildegard Trage; his grandfather was the physiologist Rudolf Rosemann . Harald Rosemann studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Hanover and passed the diploma examination in 1965. From 1964 to 1972 he worked in various scientific positions at the chair for theoretical electrical engineering. In 1972 he received his doctorate with his thesis on signal processing in neural networks . Immediately after completing his doctorate , he was appointed senior engineer at the chair for safety technology and didactics in mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Hanover . Rosemann received assignments to independently hold courses on the subject of "Reliability of Technical Systems", which he also held as a lecturer at the University of Wuppertal from 1973 to 1976 ; he also represented the subject in seminars at the Haus der Technik in Essen and at the Technical Academy in Esslingen .

As part of a reorganization of the teaching areas, it was relocated to the Institute for Machine Elements, Construction Technology and Safety Technology at the Technical University of Hannover in 1975 . There he completed his habilitation in 1979 in the field of reliability of technical systems .

When it turned out that the earlier appointment as senior engineer was not legally effective and therefore invalid because of a formal error in the appointment certificate, he was appointed as a replacement academic senior councilor in 1984. The scope of duties was determined in terms of type and scope as for a senior engineer; Rosemann has held the title of Extraordinary Professor since 1985.
