Harald Troch (born May 2, 1959 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 2001 to 2013 he was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council . He has been a member of the National Council since 2013 .

education and profession

Harald Troch attended the elementary school Herderplatz between 1965 and 1969 and the Bundesrealgymnasium Gottschalkgasse from 1969 to 1976, both in Vienna- Simmering . Troch did his military service and studied history, English and pedagogy at the University of Vienna from 1978 to 1986 . Between 1989 and 1996 he trained as a trainer and in 1992 trained as a documentary.

Troch has been active in adult education since 1984 and gives lectures and workshops on historical topics and political education. He also gives English lessons. He has been with the City of Vienna since 1989, is employed in the Vienna City and State Archives , librarian and research assistant in the Association for the History of the Labor Movement.

Harald Troch became involved in the Simmering SPÖ district organization from 1986 and was a mandate of the Association of Socialist Students (VSStÖ) from 1987 to 1989 . In addition, Troch was chairman of the VSStÖ Vienna between 1988 and 1989. As a result, Troch worked again increasingly for the SPÖ Simmering, where he has headed the SPÖ Geiselberg section since 1992 and was district councilor from 1993 to 2001. Since 1998 Troch has also been a member of the district executive committee, and since April 2007 also chairman of the SPÖ district organization.

Troch represented the SPÖ from 2001 to 2013 in the Vienna state parliament and municipal council and was a member of the committees “Housing, Housing and Urban Renewal” and “Urban Development and Transport” in the 18th legislative period.
