Harardhere (also Harardheere, Harardera, Xarardheere ) is a small town in Somalia in the Mudug region , about 400 kilometers north of the capital Mogadishu . The distance to the coast is about 20 kilometers.

Harardhere hit the news in 2008 as an alleged pirate whereabouts . The port city of Eyl is about 430 kilometers away, Hobyo about 100 kilometers.

Fighters from the Hizb-el-Islam militia conquered the fishing village on May 3rd and 4th, 2010. There was no fight as the pirates left Harardere on the morning of May 2, 2010.

On October 12, 2018, with the support of the Somali government, the US armed forces carried out heavy air strikes against the radical Islamic Al-Shabaab militia in Harardheere, killing around 60 fighters according to their own statements.
