The Hard Head ( English for hard head ) is a towering headland overgrown with tussock grass on the south coast of the western end of South Georgia . It is located 300 m south of Matthews Point on the west bank of Undine Harbor .

The crew of the ship HMS Owen carried out surveys of the headland between 1960 and 1961. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee made the designation in 1964.
