The Matthews Point is a headland on the south coast of the western end of the island of South Georgia . It forms the west side of the entrance to Undine Harbor .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations mapped and named the headland between 1926 and 1930. It is named after the British zoologist Leonard Harrison Matthews (1901–1986), a member of the Discovery Investigations staff from 1924 to 1935 and who worked in South Georgia between 1924 and 1927 involved.
