Hardgainer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term Hardgainer (German as laborious Zunehmer ) referred to in the field of bodybuilding individuals whose metabolism ingested food, especially carbohydrates can utilize, below average. The opposite of this type is sometimes referred to as a softgainer . The term Easygainer is more appropriate and can also be found, i.e. someone who can gain body weight quickly.

consequences

Hard gainers find it very difficult to gain weight, even when consuming large amounts of food. On the one hand, this has a positive effect because the hardgainer hardly puts on any fat; on the other hand, it is very difficult to build up larger muscle mass. This can be remedied by a balanced diet, in which particular emphasis is placed on the increased increase in valuable carbohydrates. Hard gainers are often falsely referred to as “poor feed converters” or people with a good metabolism, since only the superficial effect of the poor increase in fat tissue is registered.

Easygainer

As Easy Gainer , sometimes erroneously also called Soft Gainer referred and popularly known as "good food recycler," people are described that even at low supply quantities of food rather quickly gain weight. It is easy for this type to gain muscle mass, but it also builds up fat deposits quickly, especially when consuming carbohydrates . Therefore, Easygainer avoid the excessive intake of carbohydrates and focus on the ingestion of protein-rich foods.

criticism

The simple division into hard and easy gainers is especially common in hobby sports and among fitness and nutritionists and has nothing to do with serious science. Ingo Froböse points out that the transition of the metabolism is stepless and everyone can "develop in one of the two directions".
