Hardy by Francois
Hardy von Francois , born Bernhard Hermann , (born February 7, 1879 in Potsdam , † 1956 in Berlin ) was a German actor and director.
origin
His grandfather was Major General Bruno von Francois (1818–1870). His parents were the Prussian Colonel Hermann Karl Bruno von Francois (1856-1933) and his wife Elisabeth Emma Olga von Besser (born March 30, 1859).
Life
Von Francois was actually the director of Berlin who appeared in four films between 1921 and 1924. He made his debut in the film The Secret of Six Playing Cards - Part 3: Treff As directed by William Kahn . In Nosferatu - A Symphony of Horror , he made a brief appearance as a doctor. With the supporting role as Ritter Dankwart in Fritz Lang's epic The Nibelungs , he largely said goodbye to film. In 1935 he had a tiny appearance in Gustav Ucicky's Das Mädchen Johanna .
He remained a successful theater actor for many years. After the war, however, he could no longer gain a foothold there; he died in a nursing home in 1956.
He married Hedwig Wagner on September 10, 1902 . The marriage ended in divorce. Then he married on March 8, 1926 Gerda Falke (born August 15, 1899), a daughter of the Plauen lace factory Falke.
