Harpalus

Harpalos ( Greek  Ἅρπαλος "the lovely one", Latinized Harpalus ) is:

  • Harpalus (Macedonian) , son of Machatas, a childhood friend and confidante of Alexander the great

  • Harpalos (astronomer) , Greek astronomer who is said to have determined the length of the year to be 365 days 13 hours
