Harrisia taylorii is a species of plant in the genus Harrisia fromthe cactus family (Cactaceae). The specific epithet taylorii honors the American botanist Norman Taylor (1883–1967).

description

Harrisia taylorii is branched well above the ground and grows with spreading to ascending, 1.5 to 2 meter long branches. The strong, light green shoots have a diameter of 4 to 5 centimeters. There are nine rounded ribs that are separated by deep furrows. The nine to twelve ascending thorns are 3 to 5 inches long.

Nothing is known about the flowers . The yellowish fruits are elongated to spherical.

Distribution and systematics

Harrisia taylorii is widespread in the eastern part of Cuba ( Oriente ).

The first description was in 1908 by Nathaniel Lord Britton . A nomenclature synonym is Cereus taylorii (Britton) Vaupel (1913).
