Harry C. Stutz

Harry C. Stutz (* 1876 in Ohio ; † 1930 in the United States ) was an American automobile entrepreneur, engineer, and inventor in the automobile industry.

Stutz grew up on his family's farm in Ohio , where he took care of maintaining and repairing the agricultural machinery. He built his first car in 1897, then a second one of his own with a gasoline engine. In 1905 he designed a car for the American Motors Company in Indianapolis . However, he soon left the company and founded his own company, which he later renamed the Stutz Motor Car Company of America . He also founded the Stutz Fire Engine Company and the HCS. Motor Car Company 1919. In 1929 he continued to found the Stutz-Bellanca Airplane Company .

After his death he was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis .
