Hartmut Bechmann

Hartmut Bechmann (born June 10, 1939 in Ernstthal ; † November 4, 2013 in Lauscha ) was a German art glass blower, glass designer and artist, and sculptor.

Life

After attending school, Hartmut Bechmann completed an apprenticeship as an apparatus blower in Jena from 1955 to 1958 .

In 1973 he graduated from the technical college for applied arts in Schneeberg (Erzgebirge) as a glass designer. The following year he was accepted into the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR . Since then he has been working as a freelancer. He set up his own atelier with a melting furnace in Ernstthal and specialized, among other things, in the design of glass in the form of a hut. In addition, from 1975 he also engaged in sculpture (stone, wood and bronze sculptures).

He became a member of the Association of Visual Artists Thuringia e. V.

Since 1972 he has participated with his works in numerous art exhibitions at home and abroad. His works are exhibited in various museums.
